thoughts on mantown and how it relates to gaming

Mantown was invented by the hillman morning show on WAAF 107.3 in Boston,MA in 1990 i believe.
it started out as something sweet and simple being that a man needs his personal space to sit, screw off and not be bothered when needed to play games, shoot the s**t with the guys, watch sports and generally wind down.

generally women are not allowed unless the following conditions exist:

1) she is bring him dinner or more importantly a beer ( or 2 or 3 ...LOL)

2) she is "taking care of him ;-) ummmm fill in the blanks, OK??

3) a back or massage is nice too :-)

the rules are just as simple:

a) Thou shall not nag.......ever!
b) never interrupt a baseball/football or other important sports game
c) NO WHINING !!!
d) thou shall not ever interrupt a match or any important video game session ......EVER!!
e) unless the conversation involves videos, beer, sports, home depot/lowes,fishing,umm interesting videos or other subjects important to us MEN forget it.
f) bringing snacks/pretzels.slim jims are a way to get on our good side :-)
g) farting, burping and swearing is not only acceptable but necessary
so is scratching your arse and/or balls .......

for more rules and information go to www.waaf.com go to the hillman morning show link and look to Mantown links and information.

my particular mantown has two sections
upstairs which was converted from a coal storage and ice room to house my video game collection, dart board ( yes i play) 34" hdtv with Hdtv cable box, X-Box 360,gamecube and Onkyo 400 Watt 7.1 DTS reciever.
Downstairs is my workshop complete with my own refrig for my bevies, server system to run the house network, pool table, foosball table, air hockey table, workout center with speed bag and 300 LB punching bag and soon a fully functioning skeet lane and basketball mini hoop system.

my next idea down here in the basement is to add arcade pinball machines down here.

so that pretty much sums up mantown...... and yes we need our space and piece while we tear up and mutilate the latest video game without distractions .........
